Turning Grinch?

I have decided not to put up exterior Christmas lights this year.

Oh no! Say it isn't so! JustSue, Tinsel Queen of the West, is foregoing Christmas this year?

Well no, not quite...but certainly this year will be a little more toned down.

Last year we had a few light strand casualties - personally I blame the *squirrels, although popular opinion is that it was the cold weather - the fact remains that in order to put on any kind of light display this year, I would need to purchase a whack of new.

I switched all my lights over to the new energy saving led lights about 3 years ago. I have to admit that I was very disappointed with them, found them dull, dingy looking - certainly not bright and sparkly like my Christmas displays of old, so I certainly wasn't heart broken at losing them to my local tree-rodents. Technology changes rapidly however and I have noticed that in the past few years, advances have been made and the newer led's are certainly an improvement.

Seeing as we are moving next year (woohoo!) I'd rather hold off on making any major new illumination purchases until I see what the new place is like and what my decorating style is going to be....and if I have room on the front lawn for a herd of illuminated deer, inflatable snow globe, Santa Sleigh...

Just kidding...

...or am I? Tee hee!

*Notice how I blame them for everything? lol

Ok, I visions of National Lampoon's Christmas just popped into my head!...When Chevy Chase plugs in the power and the whole neighbourhood lights up from the sheer brightness of the house..enough that it can be seen from space lmao!

We (My dad and I) keep one strand of white christmas lights up connected to the lightswitch year-round. Good 'nuff for me. As long as there is some snow I'll be happy.
